CALL for PAPERS
IGARSS 2014 and 35th CSRS Special Issues
IEEE J-STARS and CJRS
Submission Due Date: September 30, 2014
The 2014 International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS 2014) was being held in conjunction with the 35th Canadian Symposium on Remote Sensing (CSRS) in Québec City, Canada, from July 13th to July 18th. This joint Symposium is a partnership of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) and the Canadian Remote Sensing Society (CRSS).
Two special issues in peer-reviewed journals are planned:
- IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing (J-STARS).
Editor-in-Chief: Dr. Jocelyn Chanussot (Grenoble Institute of Technology) - Canadian Journal of Remote Sensing / Journal canadien de télédétection (CJRS-JCT).
Editor-in-Chief: Dr. Nicholas Coops (UBC)
For both special issues, normal page charges, peer-review, and editorial process will apply. The paper submission deadline is September 30, 2014 with a target publishing date in early 2015. Please note: Papers submitted to J-STARS or to CJRS should NOT be the conference paper. A 2 to 3 times longer paper is typically expected, with a more detailed presentation of the work, and possibly to include additional data sets and comparisons in an enhanced experimental section. To avoid confusion in future referencing, a different title should also be chosen.
IEEE J-STARS Special Issue:
All authors are invited to submit full length manuscripts for peer review for the J-STARS special issue. However, papers close to the symposium theme "Energy and our Changing Planet" will be invited to submit to the CJRS Special Issue (details below). Papers for the J-STARS special issue will consider all other symposium topics and should be submitted online via the IEEE/Xplore Spectral Library or directly to http://manuscriptcentral.com/jstars. Authors should indicate that the paper is planned for the IGARSS 2014 special issue in J-STARS.
J-STARS Guest Editors: Dr. Josée Lévesque (DRDC), Dr. Monique Bernier (INRS), Dr. Ellsworth LeDrew (University of Waterloo) and Dr. Jean-Marc Garneau, (DRDC, Ret.)
CJRS Special Issue:
Authors who address a subject close to the symposium theme "Energy and our Changing Planet" including the current or future role of remote sensing in topics such as energy management, oil, gas and mineral exploration and renewable energy are invited to submit to the Canadian Journal of Remote Sensing/Journal canadien de télédétection special issue.
Papers should be submitted to http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/cjrs-jct indicating in the cover letter that the paper is for the IGARSS 2014 / 35th CSRS special issue in CJRS. Prospective authors should follow the regular guidelines of the CJRS available at that site.
CJRS Guest Editors: Dr. Danielle De Sève (IREQ) and Dr. Josée Lévesque (Defence R&D Canada)
