Get Involved and Stay Connected
There are many ways to contribute to the USNC-URSI to learn more about the latest research and activities in the area of applied electromagnetics, support the United States and its efforts to promote radio science, meet the next generation of radio scientists, and raise your visibility. Here are some ways you can get involved:
Get Involved
- Attend commission business meetings during the annual National Radio Science Meeting (NRSM) to learn more about commission and USNC-URSI activities. All are welcome, including students and non-member guests. Check the NRSM program for the dates and times for these meetings, which are sometimes held as hybrid meetings.
- Become a member of one or more commissions here.
- Express an interest in a leadership position within your commission, such as the membership chair, technical activities chair, secretary, vice-chair, and chair. Inform the current chair of your commission or the chair / chair-elect of USNC-URSI that you are interested. Serving in these positions helps you to start becoming eligible to serve in USNC-URSI leadership roles and also eligible to represent the United States in International URSI positions.
- More information about positions such as a government liaison, society representative, or member-at-large is provided in the operating manual.
- Organize special sessions at the NRSM (contact a commission chair).
- Review abstracts and summaries for the NRSM (contact a commission chair).
- Serve on a USNC-URSI committee, such as the Sponsors and Exhibits Committee, the Workshops and Short Courses Committee, etc. Learn more.
