Description

Commission A encompasses both electromagnetic measurements and standards. In particular, the Commission promotes research and developments in:

  1. Measurements and standards in time and frequency, including infrared and optical frequencies;
  2. Measurements in the time domain;
  3. Measurements in the frequency domain;
  4. Measurements in telecommunications;
  5. Measurements using lasers;
  6. Quantum metrology and electrical methods in fundamental constants;
  7. Measurements and standards from dc to optical frequencies.
