Athina P. Petropulu is a Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rutgers University. Her interests include radar signal processing and PHY security. She received the Presidential Faculty Fellow Award (1995) from NSF and the U.S. White House, and the 2012 IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) Meritorious Service Award. She is an AAAS Fellow. She is co-author of the 2005 IEEE Signal Processing Magazine Best Paper Award, the 2020 IEEE Signal Processing Society Young Author Best Paper Award (B. Li), the 2021 IEEE Signal Processing Society Young Author Best Paper Award (F. Liu), and the 2021 Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society Barry Carlton Best Paper Award. Bernadette Bouchon-Meunier is a director of research emeritus at the National Centre for Scientific Research and Sorbonne University, the former head of the department of Databases and Machine Learning in the Computer Science Laboratory of the University Pierre et Marie Curie-Paris 6 (LIP6). She supervised 52 PhD students. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Uncertainty, Fuzziness and Knowledge-based Systems and the Co-executive director of the IPMU International Conference held every other year since 1986. B. Bouchon-Meunier is the (co)-editor of 30 books, and the (co)-author of five. She has (co)-authored more than 400 papers on approximate and similarity-based reasoning, as well as the application of fuzzy logic and machine learning techniques to decision-making, data mining, risk forecasting, information retrieval, user modelling, sensorial and emotional information processing.
She was elected President of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society for 2020-2021. She is currently its Past President. She is an IEEE Life Fellow, an International Fuzzy Systems Association Fellow and an Honorary Member of the EUSFLAT Society. She received the 2012 IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Meritorious Service Award, the 2017 EUSFLAT Scientific Excellence Award, the 2018 IEEE CIS Fuzzy Systems Pioneer Award and the 2019 Outstanding Volunteer Award of the IEEE France Section.

Leila De Floriani is a professor at the University of Maryland, College Park, USA. She has previously been a professor at the University of Genova (Italy), and she has also held positions at the University of Nebraska, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and the Italian National Research Council.
De Floriani has been the 2020 President of the IEEE Computer Society. She is the IEEE Division VIII Director-Elect in 2022, and will be the IEEE Division VIII Director in 2022-2023. She has been a member of the Board of Governors of the IEEE Computer Society since 2017. She is a Fellow of the IEEE, a Fellow of the International Association for Pattern Recognition, a Fellow of the Eurographics Association, and a Pioneer of the Solid Modeling Association. She is an IEEE Computer Society Golden Core Member and a member of the IEEE Honor Society IEEE-HKN. She has been also inducted in the IEEE Visualization Academy in 2020.
She has been the editor-in-chief of the IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics (TVCG) from 2015-2018, and served as an associate editor for IEEE TVCG from 2004-2008. De Floriani is currently an associate editor of ACM Transactions on Spatial Algorithms and Systems, Computers and Graphics, GeoInformatica, Graphical Models and Computer Science Review. She has served on the program committees of over 150 leading international conferences, including several IEEE conferences, and has contributed to many conferences in a leadership capacity.
De Floriani has authored over 300 peer-reviewed scientific publications in data visualization, geospatial data representation and processing, computer graphics, geometric modeling, shape analysis and understanding, garnering several best paper awards and invitations as a keynote speaker. Her research has been funded by numerous national and international agencies, including the European Commission and the National Science Foundation.

Ana I. Perez Neira, IEEE SPS VP Conferences
Ana Pérez-Neira is full professor at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in the Signal Theory and Communication department since 2006 and was Vice rector for Research (2010-14). Currently, she is the Director of Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya, Spain. Her research is in signal processing for communications, focused on satellite communications. She has more than 60 journal papers and 300 conference papers. She is co-author of 7 books. She has leaded more than 20 projects and holds 8 patents. She is the coordinator of the Networks of Excellence on satellite communications, financed by the European Space Agency: SatnexIV-V. She has been associate editor of the IEEE TSP and EURASIP SP and ASP. Currently she is senior area editor of IEEE OJSP. She is member of the BoG of the IEEE SPS and Vice-President for conferences (2021-23). She is IEEE Fellow and member of the Real Academy of Science and Arts of Barcelona (RACAB). She is recipient for the 2018 EURASIP Society Award and she has been the general chair of IEEE ICASSP’20 (the first big IEEE virtual conference held by IEEE with more than 15,000 attendees). In 2020, she has been awarded the ICREA Academia distinction by the Catalan government.

She was Executive Director of a healthcare charity startup, The SuperComputer for Cancer Research, providing free green access to high performance computational resources for cancer researchers. She has had startups in 3D simulation for learning. Joanne is the 2022 Chair of IEEE Entrepreneurship , Connecting tech entrepreneurs to an engineering-driven global Innovation network. She was Member at Large (2021) and was Vice Chair, Industry & Investor Activities (2020) of IEEE Entrepreneurship. Vincenzo Piuri, Professor in Computer Engineering,the Università degli Studi di Milano, Italy
Vincenzo Piuri has received his Ph.D. in computer engineering at Politecnico di Milano, Italy (1989). He is a Full Professor in computer engineering at the Università degli Studi di Milano, Italy (since 2000). He has been Associate Professor at Politecnico di Milano, Italy, and Visiting Professor at the University of Texas at Austin and at George Mason University, USA. He founded a start-up company in the area of intelligent systems for industrial applications (leading it from 2007 until 2010) and is active in industrial research projects with several companies. His main research interests are artificial intelligence, computational intelligence, intelligent systems, machine learning, pattern analysis and recognition, signal and image processing, biometrics, intelligent measurement systems, industrial applications, digital processing architectures, fault tolerance, dependability, and cloud computing infrastructures. Original results have been published in more than 400 papers in international journals, proceedings of international conferences, books, and book chapters. He is a Fellow of the IEEE, Distinguished Scientist of ACM, and Senior Member of INNS. He has been IEEE Vice President for Technical Activities (2015), IEEE Director, President of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, Vice President for Education of the IEEE Biometrics Council, Vice President for Publications of the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society and the IEEE Systems Council. He is Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Systems Journal (2013-19), and Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing and IEEE Access, and has been Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Computers, the IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks, and the IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement. He received the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society Technical Award (2002). He is an Honorary Professor at Obuda University, Hungary; Guangdong University of Petrochemical Technology, China; Northeastern University, China; Muroran Institute of Technology, Japan; and the Amity University, India.

Afke Schaart is the Senior Vice President Global Government Affairs at Huawei HQ based in Shenzhen, China. She is leading the company’s Global Impact on Society’s Initiatives. Advancing partnerships with governments, NGOs and International Organizations, and covers topics on Sustainability and Business Ethics; Women in Tech and Digital Inclusion.
Before Afke joined Huawei in 2020 she was the VP and Regional Lead for Europe, Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) for the GSMA. Here Afke was responsible for all Public Policy advocacy activities, Strategic Engagement, Mobile for Development and Technology Programs (Digital Identity, Internet of Things, Future Networks (5G), Regulatory Modernisation and Spectrum).
Afke is also the former Vice-Chair of the Alliance of Europeans Telecoms and Automotive (EATA) promoting the wider deployment of Connected and Automated Driving in Europe. Before joining the GSMA, Afke led Microsoft’s EU Institutional Relations Team in Brussels, responsible for Microsoft’s engagement with the EU Institutions, Council of Europe, the OECD and the World Economic Forum (WEF). Here she was also responsible for Microsoft Citizenship Programs, BizSpark and YouthSpark. Prior to this, Afke served as a Member of Parliament in the Netherlands and was the spokesperson for Economic Affairs and Innovation, Technology and ICT for the People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD). She started her professional career at KPN where she was responsible for its policy interests and governmental affairs in Europe. Afke studied International Relations and European Law at the University of Amsterdam and has followed the Diplomatic Training Program at the Netherlands Institute of International Relations.

Celia Shahnaz, 2021-23 Chair, IEEE SPS Women in Signal Processing
Celia Shahnaz, SMIEEE, Fellow IEB, received Ph.D. degree from Concordia University, Canada and is currently a Professor at, Department of EEE, BUET, Bangladesh since 2015.
She has published more than 150 international journal/conference papers. She is a recipient of the Canadian Commonwealth Scholarship/Fellowship and Bangladesh Academy of Science Gold Medal for her contribution in Science and Technology. Her research interests include the areas of signal processing for speech analysis and speech enhancement, audio-visual recognition for biometric security, control system, robotics, pattern recognition, machine learning and deep learning for audio, video, biomedical, power signals, multimodal emotion recognition, and humanitarian technology.
Recently, her papers have received best paper awards in IEEE BECITHCON 2019, biomedical Engineering tracks at TENCON 2017 and at IEEE WIECON-ECE 2016, in Humanitarian Challenge track at R10 HTC 2017, and the best interactive poster award at ICIVPR 2017. Her paper has been selected for the top ten best paper awards in the Student Paper Contest of the 2018 and 2014 IEEE International Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems (MWSCAS), College Station, Texas, USA and Knoxville, TN, USA, respectively. She was the winner, the Best Student Paper Award, 2008 IEEE International Conference on Neural Networks and Signal Processing (ICNNSP), Zhenjiang, China. She was selected as one of the finalists of the Student Research Presentation Competition in the 2009 SYTACOM Workshop, Montreal, QC, Canada.
She was the mentor of 1st/2nd prize winning projects in IEEE IAS CMD Contests (Robotics, Humanitarian) in 2017-2019, USA. She was the supervisor of 4th/5th rank winning teams in SPCUP competitions, ICASSP 2020 (Spain)/2015 (Australia) and 5th rank winning team in VIP CUP competition, ICIP 2020 (United Arab Emirates) .
She is the recipient of the 2021 IEEE MGA Achievement Award, 2021 Inspiring Women in Academia Award from Bangladesh brand forum, 2019 R10 Humanitarian Activities Outstanding Volunteer Award, 2016 MGA Leadership Award 2015 WIE Inspiring Member Award, 2013 R10 WIE Professional Volunteer Award.
