The IEEE Spoken Language Technology (SLT) Workshop is one of a long series of international meetings to promote recent progress made in all fields of spoken language technology and their impact on human life. The SLT 2016 will be held at San Diego, California on December 13-16. San Diego is a major city on the coast of the Pacific Ocean in Southern California - very close to the border with Mexico, if any SLT participants wish a brief vacation in Mexico. San Diego is well known for its beaches, parks and warm climate. Its beautiful Balboa Park hosts the San Diego Zoo, numerous art galleries, artist studios, museums and gardens. San Diego is the eighth most populated city in United States and has a long history, being the first site visited by Europeans on what is now the West Coast of the United States.
The theme for SLT 2016 will be “Machine learning from signal to concepts.” The SLT 2016 workshop will be partnering with National Institute of Standards Technology workshops on speaker and language recognition that will happen just before the SLT 2016 workshop.
Students may apply for SPS Student Grants to attend SLT 2016. Deadline for application is 15-November-2016.
