Welcome

The 14th Specialist Meeting on Microwave Radiometry and Remote Sensing of the Environment (MicroRad 2016) will take place April 11-14, 2016, on Aalto University Campus, Espoo, Finland.

MicroRad is a unique gathering where the microwave radiometry community has an opportunity to present new designs, research results, technological advances and unique innovations in the field of passive microwave remote sensing. The meeting will cover wide radiometry applications and fields such as soil moisture and state, ocean salinity, cryosphere, ocean dynamics, sounding, radiometer calibration, radio frequency interference issues, new technologies etc. The meeting is expected to attract scientists and engineers from all over the world.

Proceedings from the MicroRad conference will be archived by IEEE in IEEE Xplore, with an IEEE special issue/section planned for the Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing (JSTARS).

MicroRad 2016 is sponsored by the Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and Aalto University.

Call for Nominations:

The Golden Florin (Fiorino Oro) Award is presented every two years to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to research in Passive Microwave Remote Sensing throughout their careers. The recipient will be presented with the award during MicroRad 2016 at the Banquet. The award is sponsored by the Center for Microwave Remote Sensing (CeTeM) jointly with IEEE GRSS. Nominees must be members of IEEE GRSS.
