    Wolfram Technology Engineer

    Overview: Wolfram, makers of Mathematica and Wolfram|Alpha, is seeking a Wolfram Technology Engineer to work with our Wolfram Technology Group. Day-to-day, the Wolfram Technology Engineer provides application support to Wolfram clients by phone and email, communicates customer feedback to other departments within the company, and champions improvements to already exceptional products. The Wolfram Technology Engineer also trains clients in the functionality of Wolfram products, explains the benefits of using Wolfram products to potential clients, and develops creative solutions to address the individual client’s needs with the aid of Wolfram products. Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of management. Responsibilities: - Deliver service and support to clients via email, phone, or remote connection - Diagnose and resolve customers’ software and programming issues - Research required information using available resources - Follow standard processes and procedures - Identify and escalate priority issues per client specifications - Create and update internal and customer-facing Wolfram Knowledgebase content as needed - Review and collaborate on improving existing training materials - Deliver training to individuals, groups of customers, and/or employees remotely or in person - Write, analyze, review, and rewrite routine Wolfram Language programs and/or build simple models using Wolfram SystemModeler following provided specifications - Perform revision, repair, or expansion of existing programs/models to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements - Document program/model design, usage instructions, and work progress - Test and correct programs/models - Develop expertise in and expand understanding of existing and forthcoming Wolfram technologies Requirements: - Excellent problem-solving skills - Programming experience in one or several programming language - Research experience/teaching experience - Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field - Master’s degree in a technical or scientific field preferred - Open-minded in exploring new fields - Desire and drive to learn and self-educate - Self-motivated and self-disciplined - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Able to articulate ideas and instructions - Desire to work with clients on a daily basis - Interest in growing into a technology consultant - Wolfram Language programming skills are a plus - Modelica experience or system modeling skills are a plus - Parallel programming experience is a plus - Spanish or Chinese language fluency is a plus Process: Candidates will be issued a problem set to complete, and will also be required to give a presentation as part of the interview process.
